Paul (Pablo) Vachier
Creative DirectorBasically a computer artist who used to do graphic production for a living, Paul has branched out his talents to the web only within the last year. Thanks to a few lucky breaks and friends in high places, Paul got some good gigs designing web stuff for online magazines like Word and Salon and now does web design thru his own company Transmit Media. "DISH is the culmination of all I've learned about the web in the last year, and focuses on one of my greatest loves, MUSIC. I also think we are striving for something bold and different on this new medium of the WWW. My goal creatively is to break the static mold of web design for something more interesting and organic. In addition to that, I want to kindle that type of music that we love and provide an alternative to the mainstream channels. Whatever happens with this magazine, we've had a great time doing it, and if anything, we'll transmit our message to a lot of people who would never get a chance to access something like this locally."
Paul is originally from New York City but spent time in Los Angeles, Europe and Hawaii, among other places. After dropping out of UCLA's American Indian and African Studies programs, he discovered his real love was music and eventually the underground dance scene of the early '90s led him to the enchanting Bay Area where he continues to seek the higher vibe in whatever form it takes.
