Program
DANCE THEATER PERFORMANCE
8:00 PM

"MegaHz"
Choreographer Tomi Paasonen is extending his controversial piece "Wavelength" into a 20 minute exploration of sexual isolation and mis-communication in the fast-paced, channel-surfing digital age. MegaHz features a crowded collage of telephonic sounds, radiowaves, opera and electronic music, heightening the sense of disassociation, disruption and frenzy.

"Destination Dreamland"
Tomi Paasonen presents an urban scary-tale about an alienated fairy, Shirley, who escapes into the world of her dreams to search for her true hero, the prince. The piece encompasses elements of opera, musical theater, ballet, children’s songs and nursery rhymes. Using live singers, musicians and dancers, the spectator is carried on a torturous ride through the labyrinth of love, labor of adolescence and labor of adolescence.

"4 Short Pieces"
Choreographer Yannis Adoniou presents a journey through colors, sound, motion and still-life that studies the emotions of the subconscious, mating, euphoria and loss. The cast includes a group of 8 dancers, an original score by Kevin Donlon, imaginary costumes by Lilly Hotchkiss and Mr. Adoniou's choreography and stage design.

Dancers will include Nicole Bonnadona, Juliann Rhodes, Kelly Greene, Leslie Schickel, Nora Heiber and Nol Simonse. Performers include Eric Hoisington, Mad Magda, Phatima, Reginald, Fausto Fernos and Tod Wohlfahrt. Costumes by Lilly Hotchkiss and Mr. David.

INDEPENDENT FILM SCREENING
10:30 PM

A screening of experimental and non-narrative films will follow the live performance, each offering a sonic and visual exploration of dance, rhythm and musicality. These "films that dance" include "Pothead", directed by Evann Siebens, Yannis Adoniou’s "Birth", Tomi Paasonen’s "Nuderude", Mira Popova’s "Frauengold", David J. Thomas’ "Requiem III", and additional works by Paul Rowley and Tom Gleeson.
