Future Events White Time March 18th-27th, 1999 The second KUNSTSTOFF event is titled WHITE TIME. It will run for two weeks at Brady Street Theater, March 18th through 27th 1999. Tomi Paasonen will further develop and extend his play "TUBE 57" which he created during a three-month artist residency at the Jon Sims Center last spring. TUBE 57 is an eerie futuristic fantasy that explores the perception of time in the mind of an immortal. In zone 6, section 42C, department Y, level B4, unit 8664, Poika is celebrating his 170th birthday for the 5th time. Once upon a time when he was 13, he was put on the gene manipulation program ‘Fountain of Youth’. A camera was installed in him. His life was put on record – preprogrammed – pause, play, fast-forward, rewind, delete. The gallery will exhibit art of the in-between, the neutral, the zero, the white, the time. Don’t be late cuz we won’t wait! Americana for Aliens Fourth of July, 1999 The third KUNSTSTOFF event is a Fourth of July riot entitled AMERICANA FOR ALIENS. Tomi Paasonen plans to create a rock opera exploring the theme of independence featuring several San Francisco rock bands and a piece that follows the journey of an alien in an American mall. Exact time and location will be announced.
